Help! Safe or unsafe veggie?

I fed this veggie to my bunnies thinking it was purple kale or purple lettuce, but now I’m not sure what it is. A plant ID app said it was something called Hart’s Tongue Fern.

I’m in Germany and some friends bought this veggie from an Italian seller at a farmer’s market. I had them buy and drop off some greens for my bunnies because my husband and I are sick. Normally I only feed my bunnies things I can conclusively identify, and I will be a lot more careful about that in the future.

I gave my buns this veggie about 5 hours ago and they ate it eagerly. Anyone know what it is or whether it’s bunny-safe?

I feel like an idiot for feeding it to my buns without being absolutely sure of what it was. I don’t know how well you can tell from the pic, but it’s a mixture of green and purple. It came in small pieces like the one in the photo. I’ve removed the remaining pieces from my bunnies’ enclosure.

I did a google image search, and it doesn’t look like Hart’s Tongue Fern. I’ve grown kale and this looks like purple kale to me. Of course keep an eye on your buns just in case, but I think you’re safe.

My friends solved the mystery! It is something called kalette—sort of a cross between kale and brussels sprouts.
