This is Honey, a very sweet girl but is really only comfortable with me.. I brought her to the vet last month and she hated it. When the vet tech went to pick her up and weigh her, she jumped into the sink, across the walls and onto the floor and ran to me and I was able to pick her up. I do think the vet tech did not pick her up the way you should pick up bunnies and that upset me a bit. She scratched up the vets arm and my hand and wrist. I was scared and felt so bad for her. For the rest of the appointment she would only let me touch her or hold her.. I had to hold her while the vet was doing a check up and I just feel so bad. The vet said I need to socialize her more.. she needs to get used to other people. She lets my boyfriend and best friend pet her and she will jump around them but my brothers or my dad she runs away fast and hides in her tunnel. I'm not sure if that is just a natural fear they have abt the vet.. or if she really is not socialized with enough people and she needs to be.. but I don't want to stress her out and do it in the wrong way. I love how comfortable she is with me, but I need her to feel safe with others too.. Does anyone know how I could help this? I want to help her get more comfortable with others being in her space and especially when she needs to be touched or picked up. I am open to any ideas or methods you guys have used or know of. Thank you!!
