Hi everyone this is my gorgeous little 10 week old baby girl lionhead Yuki, born on boxing day 2025! she is an indoor bunny who loves a good cuddle and to preen her mama 😭 my first indoor bunbun 🥲
I am currently having some issues/ concerns with her food and wondering if anyone can give me some advice ? – she currently only likes eating her treats (dried as shes too young for fruit and veggies) and her baby pellets are getting abandoned. I think i might have to stop the treats for a few days to ensure that she eats her proper food ( this will be hard for me as she is just the sweetest and smartest girl) what have you guys done in this situation?
I have got her on a pet plan, she has had her first yearly injections, which she took like an absolute champ and i am a proud mama 🙂 i plan on getting her neutered to avoid cancers – any advice for when the time comes? I am thinking of waiting until 6 months old first ???
I have got some granules that are biome safe for her cage to avoid smells and i am doing patch cleans every day removing soiled hay and a full clean out weekly. She drinks from a bowl rather than a bottle.
She has a teddybear which she sleeps with ( absolutely adorable) to keep her cozy and feeling safe at night. Unfortunately no companion but i work from home 24/7 so i am always with her to watch her safely binky and for endless cuddles.
I have been recommended critical care saches by a previous bunny owner for times of need and when she feels poorly
I plan on doing fly strike treatment next month
Cutting her nails is fine- i am the designated nail cutter for animals in my family (birds and bunnys)
We sleep with a fan on and a window slightly open to circulate air ( not pointing at her cage, but my room gets quite warm at night so it is essential)
We have had some wet noses, no snot or grossness, and the vet didnt seem too worried about this so i have been keeping an eye on her and she is doing better
I am TRYING to potty train her – wees are done in her litter tray that is filled with paper cat litter which was stupidly easy and she didnt need treats to do so, but poos? Omg the poos are everywhere, any advice on this ? – the puppy pads in the photo are just so she doesnt accident, which has only happened twice!
I plan on once she has had her fly strike treatments getting her a play pen for outside in the summer so i can supervise her outdoor play whilst working.
Her pen is hay and not wood chippings
I am going away at the end of the month and she will be staying with my brother ( who is absolutely obsessed with her ) i have faith that he will follow my wishes and needs for her care, but i am nervous that she will be mad at me for leaving her for a week 🙁 its going to be so hard to leave her even though ive only been mum for a week and a half 🙁
I think that is everything- i dont think i have forgot to mention anything ????? Any advice or info on what i am doing right/ wrong would be greatly appreciated
Also any advice on storage for the endless treats, hay ect would be welcomed 🙂
Thanks in advance !!
