Bunny Hutch

Hey, so I bought this rabbit Hutch off of someone and the first floor of the hutch has a wire bottom with a pull out bottom beneath it. I’m very much used to putting bedding in my rabbits enclosure because I was more limited in space and he was just living in a cage. Should I be putting bedding on this first floor level? And if so, what I put it in the pool out section or above the wired bottom

This hutch should be chopped up and burned. Use an x-pen instead. Rabbits do not belong in cages.

Wire isnt good for their paws. If you can use it without the wire bottom and just put bedding on the bottom. Also try not to keep your bun in there all the time

Honestly, this is why i’m not a fan of hutches even as a “home base”. Where do you put the bedding!!?! Its not deep enough!

Rabbits need at least six square meters each to explore. They also need to be able to stand up and jump around and stretch their backs. We don’t even accept these hutches as donations in rescue, they have no place in animal welfare.
