Dirty Bun Feet

I need some advice regarding how to clean my bunnies feet. This is my girl Lola, she’s 4 months old and unspayed. Her feet have gotten super dirty recently (ignore the dark grey on the tips of her feet, thats her natural colouring).

The fur on her back feet near the heel has gotten dirty and like matted. She must have stepped in her pee or something. I usually clean her litter box and cage every other day and my other bunnies feet are quite clean with this schedule.

I’ve tried really hard to clean her feet with a cloth dipped in warm water but she’s so fidgety that literally nothing helps. I tried the bunny burrito method but she gets really scared and tries to escape and I’ve also tried to hold her and clean but she scratches me up 😭. I don’t really know what to do. Any advice is helpful. Also the matted fur on her back feet are kind of shedding really slowly. I noticed a small clump today and also when I was attempting to clean some fur was coming off on the cloth.

My Jan is 3 months old and she won’t let me touch her legs either… except when she’s eating her pellets. Nothing on earth can distract her then. Try that? (I’ve also tried the blanket method, but I got the same result you did).

    Hey there! She’s adorable 🥰

What is her living situation and/or litter box situation? Also, how often do you change her litter box?

This information will help the group help you. 👍🏽

Looks like the newspaper ink is running with the pee.
Try a layer or 2 of paper towels over the newspaper.
You could also try putting some luke warm water in your bath tub, lay a towel down so they don’t slip, wouldn’t have to be much water at all!! Just enough to get the bottom of the paws wet. Let them hang out for a few mins then let her out to run around on some pet blankets of towels to gradually clean off her feet.
My 2 buns love it! They even jump in the tub when it’s empty 🤣
