Teeth chatters ,he is currently very pleased about your petting.

It can also be a sign of pain though ,but not in this case πŸ˜€

  2. It’s a rabbit’s way of purring I believe. I could be wrong.

Rubbing their teeth together, it means they’re happy.

He enjoys it when you pet him, he gently grinds his teeth when he’s happy.
When rabbits grind their teeth because they’re in pain, it sounds louder and you can see that they’re uncomfortable. In this case, the grinding happens right as you’re petting him, so the context is perfect. You’re clearly a natural at giving head scratches! πŸ˜‰

That is the rabbit equivalent to purring… Meaning they are happy.

However, since rabbits aren’t typically vocal, loud teeth grinding can be a sign of pain. So if your bunny is doing loud grinding and refuses to move, is hunched up, eyes bulging, it’s a sign of pain, and you should seek vet help.

Body language is essential in helping your rabbit to have a long healthy life.

Good job, your rabbit definitely loves what you’re doing, so keep it up!

I absolutely adore these posts bc I was the exact same in the beginning with my buns, but to me it sounds like purring!! A very good sign that your baby is happy and comfortable. It’s a very soft grinding of the teeth, similar but distinct from bruxing, which is a sign of pain and is MUCH more grating on the ears. Enjoy the love as much as your baby is enjoying yours πŸ’•
(I should add, I differentiate the two: bruxing and purring, though some call all teeth grinding bruxing!! Just depends on person)
