TLDR: what is your litter box cleaning routine?
backstory: i’m a new foster mom! i’ve had my boy for about 11 days and he’s perfect in his xpen about using his box. suggestions also welcome for his very less than perfect track record outside of the x pen (my couch, every rug). i’m struggling with how to clean his litter box effectively and efficiently. currently the set up is a puppy pad with hay on top. it’s get so disgusting with all the pee! so my problem specifically is
– how often are you changing out the hay and entire box? tonight i cleaned the whole box since this past sunday’s reset and it feels very wasteful to throw away the hay. i may be using too much? but ive noticed he likes to dig the puppy pad if he can see it
– whats your routine look like? how do you keep it fresh for the house and for you baby
the more details the better as i’d love to hone this in 🤣
