Joey was an amazing little bunny. We lost him years ago and I definitely miss him.
I don't know what his life was like before we encounterd him at a pet store where he was all alone and seemed interested in us. Once we got him home it took him more than a month to warm up to my husband but he always liked me. His only complication is he did not want out of the cage. We tried so many times. If he could see the cage, he hopped back into it. Only way we could get him to free roam a little is take him to another room so he couldn't see the cage. (I have so many good pics of him in his cage, but folks don't always respond positively to those so most of these are when he was out.)
He ended up having an unfortunate accident at the vet's office. The vet tech held him too firmly, he panicked and kicked and became immediately paraplegic. I leaned to care for him that way and did my best to help him, but I think he was more injured because within a couple months he became really lethargic one day and passed. I found a new vet after that one visit. I couldn't believe they hurt my sweet little guy.
