Rabbit

Meet Tilly and Mochi, two ladies finally learning the soft indoor life.

Circumstances circumstanced and we now have two new bunnies way sooner than we intended.

Sweet miss Tilly is an 11 month old former farm rabbit that we brought home this week and Mochi is her only surviving kit from her one and only litter. Mochi is also my Sweet Potato's half sibling.

The farmer really cares for them so when I noticed something was off with Tilly she let me rescue/adopt them to get her taken care of. She's underweight and extremely wobbly-we're waiting for her vet visit, but I suspect she has lordosis and the discomfort kept her from moving around enough to build muscle tone.

She's been here for two and a half days and is adjusting pretty quickly to being on the floor, despite her weakness and wobbliness. She even jumped for the first time this morning! Her old cage was hanging from the ceiling, so she always sways a bit like she's seasick and even that has eased up a bit today.

Mochi, at 5 1/2 weeks old, is doing fantastic. She's already almost litter trained and is an absolute ball of energy.

Sweet Potato seems to adore both of them and I really look forward to properly bonding them once Tilly and Mochi are spayed, but I've never been in this stage of bonding before. Does anyone have tips for getting them used to each other during the transition? Or should I keep them 100% separate until the spays? And does anybody have any advice for easing a caged rabbit into the soft floor life?
