hi:) i have 2 bunnies, noelle (the one on the right) and maverick. noelle is 1 year and about 3 months. maverick is almost 11 months old.
while they were both under 1, my vet recommended feeding them pellets (i used oxbow young until my last refill, now i use oxbow adult) pretty consistently and refilling the bowl if it became empty. (they also always have had unlimited hay and get greens somewhat often, and typically get 1 oxbow vitamin treat every day) for the last few months i have not been refilling the bowl if it empties because i do not want them to get fat but i recently have noticed it seems like they are not satisfied with just hay, the digestive vitamin, and occasionally treats. they are better now at eating hay than before but i still would like to see some improvement with it, because i would not say it is 80% of their diet right now. pellet time is their favorite time and when i wake up in the morning they sit or lay on the floor like this waiting for their food. most times the bowl is empty in the first few hours after i feed them and i feel bad not giving them more but also feel guilty if i do. does anyone have any tips? it kind of seems like they are getting flustered or something and i just want to see what more i can do for my babies. any help is appreciated, thank you for reading:)
