I’m posting mainly to ask if anyone has had a similar experience, because I’m still pretty anxious about where this could have come from.
I have a 10-year-old indoor rabbit. She hasn’t been outside for more than 6 months (winter&very hot summer)and we don’t have any other pets. Recently I noticed itching and flea dirt, so I took her to the vet. She’s already been treated with a broad-spectrum antiparasitic injection and we’re going back for the follow-up dose next week. She’s eating, acting normal and seems okay so far.
I’ve seen people mention hay or bedding as a possible source (i bought a new one right away) or maybe shared building spaces / humans bringing something in unintentionally?
I know treatment is in place and we’re doing what the vet recommended (washing, vacuuming, etc.), but I’d really appreciate hearing similar experiences just for peace of mind.
