Hello, my name is Violet. I have owned money for roughly 7 years and just recently we adopted a new bunny, her name is Delilah. We adopted her not only as an addition to our family, but we also adopted her as a new friend for our previous bunny, Duds.
Now a little bit of a backstory, duds and Delilah, immediately bonded with each other, but just a few weeks ago on December 28, duds unfortunately passed away due to G.I. stasis, duds was roughly five years old, so we were expecting it. But as we have owned rabbits for the past seven years, we immediately knew what we had to do for Delilah. We started taking care of her, giving her the attention that she needed at that point in time, but we started to notice that Delilah was showing more than just symptoms of grief. We ended up taking figuring out that Delilah has floppy bunny syndrome (FRS), and we have been giving her the treatment that we need to in order to help her through this, just recently, though we found that she has a fairly large wound on the back of her neck just under her ears, we are not sure where this wound has come from as she did not have this wound when we adopted her, so I have been taking precaution steps like cleaning it with wound cleaner, and throwing on some antibacterial after cleaning due to her already having a compromised immune system I don’t want to risk infection. Today, though, as I was giving her her normal treatment and cleaning the wound on her neck, I noticed that she has the same bald spot on her neck, going all the way down her arm. Mind you I have never noticed this on Delilah before, and it has weird, kind of looking clumps of skin or like dead skin cells building up, it kind of looks like psoriasis in my opinion, but it also very much so it does look like a scab. Mind you our bunnies are not outdoor bunnies. They’re indoor bunnies and they have always been indoor bunnies, I am not sure what Delilah’s history was before. We adopted her as she was a surrender, but seeing this has me a little confused and just a bit more concerned as to what’s going on with Delilah’s health. I was wondering if maybe anybody on this channel knew what this could possibly be, we do have plans on taking her to the vet again, to speak with a veterinarian to see what it could possibly be maybe if it’s just a scar or if it could be something else. Please let me know what you guys think it could possibly be and how I could possibly take better care of her during this situation until she can get to the vet.
