People need to stop shaming you for your choices in wanting to raise your own animals for food… guess what, not everyone got the space for raising their own cows, but rabbits are far more space friendly and good food. And i think raising your own animals for food is a way better option than to pay your money into the meat industry and how horribly they treat those animals before being butchered…. This way you know they’ve had a good life because you raised them yourself. Way more ethically and way more environmentally friendly. And it definitely teaches others about this. Thank you for sharing the journey and giving us a look at now to raise them.
I’m sorry for all of these comments. It seems people are really immature when it comes to seeing someone cute and learning it’s going to die eventually. It’s the same thing with cows, pig, sheep, and other livestock but we don’t get to see them so people don’t think about where that meat comes from
I also think they deserve to have names. One for keeping track and the other because it seems just right. Letting livestock l have the most respect you could give them until you eventually need them for food is the best thing you could give them. Major risk of getting attached though. I could never do this because I don’t have the heart for it. I do have a lot of respect for livestock owners and hoe they handle things though. Much stronger willed than I ever could be

The end shocked me not because you're gonna eat the animals you're raising but because I didn't even realise you could eat rabbit outside of survival video games. Like how you can eat squirrel or basically road kill animals in games, my brain didn't make the connection that you can eat it irl

Sharing this with others is so cool and I am loving the ability to learn so much about rabbit development. People have a hard time with livestock being used for food, and I get it, humans get very attached easily, but it is a very important part of life. We all eat. Meat comes from somewhere. I won’t say I am thrilled about the concept of them being roast someday, but I am also not a vegetarian. Not to mention Rabbit is one of the better meats from an environmental impact standpoint. Welp, im going to give my pet bunnies some love and steal myself for the future. Excited to see how these rabbit grow.
