Hello all, looking for some advice/experiences.
My bun has hock sores that keep getting worse despite multiple vet visits. I’ve done everything I can to try and prevent them, super soft blankets everywhere, no hard floors, keeping things clean, but nothing seems to help. I think part of the issue is that he’s a rather large bun (not fat just big) and when he gets giddy he just irritates them further. I bought some cushioned hock socks, but the second I put them on he completely lost it, throwing himself around and panicking. I took them off straight away because I was scared he’d hurt himself. The vet says I should persevere as they can help break the cycle, but I’m really worried about stressing him out or him injuring himself while freaking out.
Has anyone had a bun who reacted like this? Did they eventually get used to the socks, or is there anything else that helped? Any tips would be amazing! Thank you in advance! 🐰🙏
