Megacolon

This guy has had the most horrendous megacolon issues. So I started thinking about how rabbits don’t eat pellets in the wild. And no matter how much vets have tried to continue to push them on us, I just kept that in mind and I’ve slowly weened him off of them. I may give a small amount to him once every two weeks now. He has ZERO and I mean ZERO issues since. And he is fine. I do sprinkle a foraging mix on his hay one time a day and it’s not a ton of it. They all live on hay now. I don’t think pellets are actually good for their systems after going thru that. I have another bunny that also has tummy issues when I feed them pellets but nothing like mega colon. And hers have also subsided. Just some food for thought- quite literally.
