Hello!
Bennie (3yo boy minilop) recently had his incisors removed. He had a severe malocclusion ever since he was young and, although we always had it trimmed, my wife and I finally mustered the willpower to do the surgery.
He has always been the best boy ever, super gentle and kind and he bonded super quickly with Jets (1yo girl netherland dwarf), which we adopted a few months ago. She has always been a scared little bun, but always managed to lay with him and groom him normaly. Again, he was always a chill guy.
However, when he came back from the vet the day after the surgery (he spent the night in observation), things changed. In the fist day, he was clearly on discomfort and kept hiding himself from Jets. And, on the following day, he started actually seeking her out to attack her. We separated them, but he still tries attacking her through the barrier (as seen in the video). To us, he looks suddenly very territorial.
At first, she didn't really understand what was going on and it was just heartbreaking to see. Now (after a few new attempts at rebonding), she seems to be fighting back when he comes for her. Still, it breaks our heart to see them fight and we are so worried this behavior change might be for definitive.
Cam anyone offer any tip on this situation? Is rebonding possible?
Also, we are going to move from our apartment in a few weeks. We are hoping that going to a new and neutral place helps, but we're unsure.
