Hello everyone!
I previously posted about my boy Milo having issues with his enclosure, and I’m happy to report that after a few adjustments to his environment, he’s calmed down:)
I’m coming back to ask experienced bun parents for some advice on how to befriend your new rabbit. I’ve had him for about two months, and I’ve given him all the time and space to get comfortable before trying to get super close or cuddly to him.
I know that every rabbit is different and that some buns don’t like pets or cuddles. Milo loves pets and will often nip at me if i stop petting him too soon. He flattens out like a pancake on the floor, sometimes makes soft noises and has fallen asleep close to me/ while i was petting him.
However, he’s completely uninterested in sitting close to me for long periods of time and doesn’t want to sit on my lap. I’ve never forcefully put him anywhere, and in the two months I’ve had him, I have only picked him up one time because he tried escaping his crate and he was fairly comfortable being held.
He’s very food motivated (although I try to keep treats to a minimum) and likes his chew toys, and often binkies when I wake up in the morning.
Any tips on getting him comfortable to sit on/with me?
Should I just accept that he’s not interested?
I don’t want to make him uncomfortable or stressed 🙁
Thank you!!
