Bunny Adoption – Megacolon?

I’m taking to Reddit to see if you all might be able to help me! I’m looking to adopt a rabbit and found an absolute love bug that seems like he’s some sort of French lop/mini lop mix given that he’s around 8 lbs and 2 years old. When we went to meet him I noticed some unusual poop that seemed like it might be consistent with megacolon, and that’s when I put two and two together that he also has the Charlie coloration that makes him much more prone to it. The shelter insisted that after reviewing the poop, it seemed like he just peed on them and they expanded and weren’t slimy footballs… however, to me it looked like inconsistent and large/wet poop that is typical with megacolon. I know it can’t be diagnosed based on this alone, but I’m curious if someone who has had a megacolon bun can weigh in on slides 3&4. As a note, he looked to be a great hay eater and his demeanor was completely normal, but it seemed like he hadn’t been groomed in around a month so it’s very likely that it could have caused some digestive upset.

I had a very tragic loss of my previous bun who suffered from many diseases, unexpectedly, and had suspected megacolon (it was very hard to diagnose given all his other issues). We know that with any bunny there is the likelihood of it having issues and especially lops, but we would have to do a LOT of consideration before taking on the potentially very early heartbreak of a megacolon bunny again. We fell in love with him and would hate to leave him behind, but also our nearest emergency vet is an hour and 15 minutes away so it was extremely tough having a bunny that requires frequent visits
