Need advice with bonding

Good morning!

Can I find a post somewhere about proper bonding? It’s been 4 weeks since we got our two males neutered. I need advice from someone who might have succeeded bonding two males.

They haven’t seen each other for weeks, they had a few fights before we separated them (they were about 10 weeks old when they started territorial behavior), and when they got neutered the vet accidentally put them in the same cage which caused another small fight. (all without injury and all monitored)

Yesterday we started in a neutral area where we set up two small pens next to each other. One of them started growling and they both started to scratch the panels. We just let them see each other for 10 minutes, to avoid stressing them out.

We got them together but they are not from the same litter. My concern is that they are not gonna bond well since they are both male, and they were only together for approx. 10 weeks since birth. I don’t want them to be lonely, so trying to bond it is.

Bugsy is a lot smaller and has a smaller skull(according to the vet he is healthy despite that), more sweet character, he stays in the living room. Duke is a bit bigger and more to himself, very skittish and doesn’t warm up to us too much even though we spend time with both of them(Duke prefers me lying on the floor to spend time with him), he is currently temporary living in my office space. He is also the more dominant one. Our goal is to let them free roam in the living room.

Our idea is also maybe doing a full sweep of the living room and clean it well, putting two pens close to each other so they can at least see each other, but I am not sure if that is the right thing to do.

I am aware this might not work out since they are still having this behavior after neutering. But I really wanna give it a try before going for bunny dating and neither do I want to keep Duke in the office space. I can’t use the computer/desk since he is there. We have no other rooms left to keep the buns separated and free roaming.

Here is a pic of one of the fluff balls sleeping, and thanks for listening to my ted talk.
