Hi all, what is the longest stasis you have dealt with?
My girl is in stasis, we gave her critical care yesterday morning as soon as she refused her pellets and took her to the vets straight afterwards, we have taken her to the vets 3 times over 48 hours, all 3 vets have said the same – that it’s unlikely to be a blockage. We had her x-rayed too and although she has some gas, it isn’t too severe. Her glucose was a bit elevated at the first appointment (but was still in an ok range) and had come down to average by our last visit. She had an IV too and munched on some food at the vets but has been refusing food since. We have been syringe feeding her and administering her pain and gut stimulation medication like clockwork but although she is peeing as normal,we haven’t seen any poo yet.
We’ve been through this a few times before but it has always taken a day or 2 for them to recover, I was wondering how long other people have experienced stasis with their buns for? I’m starting to get nervous as tomorrow (Sunday) will be day 3. Thank you!
