I’m going to preface this saying this is NOT one size fits all, as with introducing all animals to each other
There was a post recently about cats and rabbits being together. The comments went off about how predator and prey animals should never ever ever be allowed to interact and it’s dangerous and traumatic.
I say that if the owner is careful and mindful of the individuals involved, and spends lots of time, energy, effort, and work, it CAN turn out okay. But not all rabbits get along, not all cats, or dogs, or even humans get along. So no, it’s not a one size fits all situation and it’s not okay for all cats and rabbits to be together. But also – it can work out just fine.
Picture: my baby girl (10.5 year old) Cinnabun and my 8.5 year old Charlie cuddling. I’ve caught Charlie grooming her too. And I’ve never seen any aggression except when the bun is sassy and chases her a bit. Charlie though hasn’t so much as raised a paw, raised her hackles, floofed her tail, or had Big Playful Hunting Eyes at the bun. She hates her carrier and always cries in it, but if she sees the bun her the carrier next to her, she calms down a fair bit (we’ve been through 4 moves together)
