Need input for bunny-made paintings!

Picture of our available-for-adoption baby bun Opal for tax!

For the holiday season at the shelter, I would really love to have some small-critter-created paintings to offer! Im currently deciding the best method to do this. I’ve seen lots of dog, rat, and cat paintings, but not many by rabbits, so I’m not sure what method is the best.

Of course, I’ve seen lovely Bini and his stunning paintbrush art, but with shelter buns that are here pretty temporarily, I don’t think that’s a feasible option since that would involve training.

I also know people will put paint on a canvas inside of a plastic bag and let critters walk on top to smush the paint, but this one feels less… personal?

I’m thinking making some bunny-safe watercolors with turmeric, beet juice, etc, and putting some on their paws and having them walk over the canvas would be cute, but I don’t want to frustrate the bunnies at all.

Other options include putting these water colors in stacking cups and having them toss the cups, or placing some “puddles” of paint on a large tarp and a canvas in the middle so things occur more naturally. We’ll be getting a momma bun and her 5 eight-week-old binky babies back, who I think would be great candidates for this.

I’m just trying to figure out what method is the most efficient, but also the most autonomous for the bunnies involved.
