My bunny is having a lot of issues with dry hocks on the backs of his feet. I have cream and need to get antibiotics every couple of months when it starts to get infected again, but it’s getting costly.
The vet says it’s going to keep getting like that until I fix his bedding. His cage is on my floor in my bedroom. It’s a big cage almost double the size of the picture, with a rubber mat on the bottom and multiple blankets covering the entire bottom as well.
The vet said that the blankets are not enough, and that he needs something that’s going to give way for his jumps/movements in a way that a blanket won’t? I know he means foam, but I can’t find anything thick enough for a decent price. To me it still seems like it will be too hard, even if it does help him sink in his feet a little more…
Any suggestions? I’m getting worried because he can’t even exercise as much anymore because it hurts his little feet 🙁
