My bunny Joe (the fawn coloured bunny on the left) is about 7.5 years old. He was a rescue bunny. I got him when he was about 9 months old. I love him so much! He has never been unwell and has never rejected food. He’s usually very greedy with eating! One day we noticed he was quiet and not being enthusiastic with food. We took him to the vet, who couldn’t find any issue, so we brought him home and started him on critical care. He got worse (quiet, sitting hunched, would only eat very small amounts). I took him back to the vet and they have keep him there. They did blood and urine tests, X-rays and ultrasounds, and a heart ecg. They think he might have a heart rhythm issue as his heart is on the low end of normal and sometimes skips beats. They have started him on a heart drug last night but he still hasn’t improved. I’m so sad. His companion rabbit is distressed about the separation and has been stomping a lot. Has anyone else had a bunny with a heart issue?
Edit 1: (Day 4) Joe ate a very small amount of greens today and looked a little brighter when I visited him. Hopefully he is going to improve! Please eat, buddy.
Edit 2: (Day 5) Joe ate a little more today, and is moving around more. Definitely looks brighter. Still sitting hunched sometimes, but also sometimes sitting a bit more relaxed. No laying down yet. Still on critical care. Still at the vet. Heart specialist visiting him tomorrow to provide an opinion.
