I just want to share my adorable bunny with everyone. He's a swamp rabbit, which is a special kind of cottontail. These breeds are known to swim away from predators, which is pretty amazing! I found this little guy all alone, with his nest destroyed, and I hand-fed him to give him a better start. I call him Baby Bunny, and that nickname just stuck. Every evening, right after it gets dark, I walk out my back door to the wood line and call out 'Baby Bunny.' I love seeing him run full speed toward me—even if it surprises me sometimes! If he’s not running full speed to me, he's running out to check if it's really me, and when he sees me, he almost does a full flip from excitement. I love him so much. I wanted to keep him safe from predators, but since he's not a fully domesticated breed, all I can do is let him enjoy his freedom, make sure he's well-fed, and be there for him as best I can. Even when I’ve been away for a few days or a whole week, I leave food for him every day—and he always comes back. Anyone else have a similar experience?
