Hi, so for context, I usually check Lenny’s eye corners every morning to clean away any eye crusties (vet says is normal – from sleeping or hay poking him). However, the other morning I noticed one eye corner was a bit irritated red, so I left it alone. Then last night I noticed one eye corner was actually scratched and I dabbed it with a tissue and the slightest of blood came off of it. Now this morning, both eye corners are looking like this.
Could it be that he’s scratching his eyes for some strange reason to the point of hurting himself? We were just at the vet last week (annual checkup) & all looked good, but he also got his nails clipped so they’re a bit sharp rn too. Or would it be a more likely cause of somehow he keeps staving himself with his hay? He does love to dig all the way deep into the pile when he eats.
Acting completely normal otherwise, and just flopped next to me while I’m writing this post lol
