Looking for a bit of advice or suggestions on bonding two rabbits with our already bonded pair. We initially had Louie (white and grey) for a year before we got him a friend, Parker (brown). When bonding them it was love at first sight and they have been inseparable the last 4 years. They are free roam in the house so When we moved to our new house we came across someone getting rid of two baby bunnies which were brothers boots (black and brown) and Freddy (black) we thought great two bonded pairs shouldn’t be too bad to bond since nobody will be left out. We had them separated at first in different rooms, then moved so they were in the same room but couldn’t reach each other, then began doing bonding sessions in a neutral space none of them go (the bathroom, started in a smaller space like the tub and then increased to the whole bathroom). All of a sudden we came home one day and boots and Freddy had gotten into a fight and Freddy had escaped their x-pen. We separated them and tried to reintroduce them and the continued to fight. We realized we needed to bond the two of them again. Some days is great and they flop and groom each other and other days they are trying to fight. It has been over a year of trying to rebond them and I feel like we’re in the same place we were a year ago. I feel bad that they aren’t bonding because they don’t get as much time to run around as Louie and Parker since they’re free roam and boots and Freddy have to be kept in their enclosures. Would it be better to try to bond the 4 of them together again rather than just boots and Freddy?
Looking for any suggestions anyone has as this point.
