Rabbit

Just upgraded our pen

At my previous place it was 2.5Lx1.9Wx2Lx(something that bridged the diagonal) but they got really high engagement and freeroam in my tiny living space. When we initially moved here we upgraded them to 3*2 and made runways for safe exploring when we could.

We've finally had the resources and time and space management to give them the full width and make them 4*2. The black sheet is temporary while i source a lighter weight/colour fabric for them. I have found they love a fabric awning over the exposed area away from their main hiding spots.

They have used rigid cover as a launch pad to escape so it it relegated to the back right corner/walls. I don't see many awnings in pen and set up posts, but i would thoroughly recommend them. I'm wondering if i need to introduce litter trays under the covers as they're harder to maintain, but could be more popular and protect my new carpet.

If any of you use carpet cut offs, have you ever found economy in cleaning the carpet professionally or using a rented carpet cleaner to refurb an old peice? This piece is quite thick and luxurious and cost me £80, i would like to buy an equivalent in the spring or summer(if gogo and lady dont use it as a urinal) and clean it myself or professionally and cycle the two pieces, by washing and drying them, is this feasible or will my frugality endanger my rabbits? Ive always replaced previously, but i have space to entertain cleaning and drying now.

Thanks for any insight
