My rabbit was out as usual when he jumped off the couch and stood in front of me while lifting his left paw up so I checked and noticed that the nail was broken and hanging on my a thread + causing pain when he walked
The nail was already short because it was the inner most nail so I had to cut it off for relief… there was a bit of blood already but at most one or two drops of blood after I cut the broken part off. I put him back in his room and vacuumed up any debris that he could step on in hopes of being infection free. My rabbit is very squirmy and dislikes being handled for more than two minutes so I did my best to trim any longer nails as best I could. (I try to do this every month)
I would appreciate any advice or tips to stop this from happening in the future
