misty on the left (girl) and maple on the right (boy) ! both have been desexed and are around the same age of 2-3years. i adopted misty through a sanctuary and they’ve been trying to help me bond them & they are willing to let me return her.
i got her back in early june and have been trying to bond them ever since, it was going really well at first and i thought they’d be bonded quickly since they were able to loaf together for an hour or two without any issues—but one day maple escaped the pen (that they take turns in) whilst i was absent for a few minutes (5max) and i think a lot of mounting occurred (from maples end) and ever since then their bond has deteriorated
maple immediately tries to run away from her when i put them on the ground together and misty will charge after him and sometimes also bite him/pull out some fur.
i’ve been trying everything and they do have good moments from time to time (like grooming) however i don’t see any changes in behaviour towards one another when it comes to him being scared of her and her charging at him.
i adore her dearly and want to keep her—and i’ve been trying to avoid this option my hardest but if it would be better to return her instead of trying to force their bond and also give her a chance in someone else’s home where she can live her best life then i will happily do so!
